You won't need to get a new set every time as long as you maintain them regularly. This is different for everyone as it is dependent on your lifestyle and you natural lash cycle.
Generally you would aim for a fill (meaning you have at least half of the extensions left) every 2-3 weeks but some people can go for 4 weeks between fills.
